The structure is therefore simultaneously a business incubator, a place for social exchange, a knowledge center for renewable energy production, waste management and water harvesting. The next stage is the setting up of a 12 member management team which will coordinate the use of the hotspot and its activities, and the sourcing for funds for a small biogas plant run on human waste to produce cooking gas and manure for urban gardening. It is also planned to source for a solar panel to replace the small generator currently used for official functions and workshops.  Read more about the colourful opening ceremony and the Makoko/Iwaya Waterfront community on https://www.facebook.com/MakokoNeighborhoodHotspot
