I Want To Be A Bird

An anthology of poems and short stories by teenagers in IDP Camps
This anthology is a representation of different teenage voices from New Kuchingoro and Guruku IDP camps in Abuja and Nasarawa State, respectively, who had to migrate from their homes under sad, uncomfortable conditions. They tell their story of resilience, courage, strength, and hope for a future where they soar above their current situations and limitations. As you flip through the pages and read every word, ask yourself: how can I give flight to the 'little' birds behind this anthology?

I Want To Be A Bird is a product of the Creative Expressions, Awareness, Skill Acquisition and Emotional Healing (CASE) Project curated by Onyila Alobo and Odu Ode, 2025 Nigeria Green Academy Fellows, with support from the Heinrich Böll Stiftung - Abuja Office (hbs).
